School of Finance for Kids: Insure your future today!

On October 8, 2019, JA Azerbaijan held a meeting with teachers at secondary school No 212 named after Natig Tagiyev. The meeting was held within the framework of the project entitled “The Finance School” which is funded by The Ministry of Education. A staff member of the Baku Department of Education and 25 teachers from eleven selected schools attended the meeting.

Firstly, Malahat Rahimova, Director of Secondary School No 212, emphasized the importance of educating our students from an early age in financial literacy to raise a financially strong young generation. She mentioned that positive changes in this field and the increased rate of student interest will start with the development and evaluation of teacher professionalism. Then, the Executive Director of JA Azerbaijan Sevinj Mammadova introduced the presentation of the project to the teachers. The main goal of the project was to improve the financial literacy at schools and to involve more teachers and students into this field by adding new elements. At the end of the meeting, the book “My Budget”, which will be taught to students as part of the project, was presented to teachers. At the next phase of the project, there will be a three-day training of trainers on financial literacy designed for 25 teachers.
