On November 6-8, there was conducted Training of trainers for secondary school teachers. The training was carried out with the financial support of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan in cooperation with the JA Azerbaijan and secondary school No 212 named after Natig Tagiyev. The main objective of the project was to improve the financial literacy of both teachers and students.
The three-day training involved teachers from secondary schools No 212, 7, 28, 82, 213, 45, 202, 234, 57, 36, who teach life knowledge, history, chemistry, physics, biology, technology and geography. A training book for the students entitled “My Budget” by JA Azerbaijan, was presented to teachers.
During the training, teachers firstly got acquainted with the training module which contains theoretical knowledge and practical work with budget, income, expense, budget planning, banking, savings account, etc. They were introduced to the training module that included the concepts. Then, the teachers played an entertaining and instructive game “Balance Break Even or Broke”. On the last day of training, teachers learned insurance and its types by practising and playing the “Make it Match”.
The role of teachers in the education of healthy and well-educated young generation is indispensable. That is the reason why it is important to educate our teachers on financial literacy. Together with our partners, we aim to increase the knowledge and skills of both teachers and students by supporting financial literacy program in schools.
Trained teachers will be teaching financial literacy in schools starting from December.
