JAA is expanding its cooperation with state and international sectors in the field of professional development of young people

Junior Achievement (JA) Azerbaijan implements the Youth Empowerment and Leadership Program (YELP) (2019-2020) with the financial support of the UNICEF and Europe Union. The main objective of the project, implemented in partnership with the Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Youth Foundation, is to enhance professional skills and employment opportunities for young people.

The project will work closely with Binagadi District Youth House, Khazar District Youth House, Mingachevir City Youth House, Shamkir, Bilasuvar and Kazakh Youth Development and Career Centers. First of all, JA’s three pathways – Work readiness and Career Planning, Financial Literacy, Entrepreneurship – training programs are planned to be trained in those Youth Houses and Development and Career Centers. At the initial stage, JA will arrange Training of Trainers for young employees of the Youth Houses. Following that training, the staff of the Youth Houses will use the experience gained in their training for their members.

The program will involve 24 employees, including 4 young people from each Youth House. The project is expected to be attended by 1,500 young people from various age groups according to the direction of work readiness and career planning and 240 people for financial literacy and entrepreneurship. Youth involved in this area will work in groups of 5 and compile 48 social and business projects in order to participate in the competition. Overall 18 projects will be financed under the program with 3 projects from each Youth House.

It should be mentioned that the first three projects will be awarded through competition among projects.

It is important to create good conditions for increasing the role of young people in public life and promotion to responsible positions. That is why the development of their leadership skills, including decision-making, public speaking and taking responsibility should be developed under the modern requirements. Together with our partners, our goal is to help young people to learn such skills and successfully pursue their future career path.
