“Smart Budget” project was finalized with Poster competition.

On February 1, 2020, on the occasion of the Youth Day, Junior Achievement Azerbaijan public union organized a Poster Competition within the “Smart Budget” project with the financial support of the Azerbaijan Youth Foundation. The strategic partner of the project is the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The main purpose of the event was to develop creative thinking and to promote financial literacy among the youth by presenting the financial literacy topics onto the poster by pupils.

In the initial phase of the two-phase project, 314 students were introduced to interactive budgeting game concepts such as budget planning, budget control, revenue, cost, savings, and improved their practical skills. In the next round of the Smart Budget project 180 pupils from 30 teams attended. The teams prepared posters based on slogans such as money and labor, budget and budget planning, banking services, taxation, insurance, and pension.

The poster competition was organized in the partnership with the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Pasha Bank, Access Bank, Bank Respublika and the representative of Sparkassenstiftung in Azerbaijan. The partners were involved in the project as a member of the jury and assessed student posters on a range of six categories. The winner teams under each nomination were given interesting presents from the Central Bank.

In addition, the jury ranked 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th place teams based on their creative approach, interesting design, clear message, and ability to deliver. The winner teams received certificates and other gifts from the partners.
