Online meetings with experts

JA Azerbaijan has organized several online meetings for secondary and vocational school teachers with experts on various entrepreneurship topics. The meetings were held within the framework of the “Entrepreneurship for Youth” project funded by the European Union.

The aim of the meetings is to keep the teachers’ knowledge on entrepreneurship education update and to increase their potential in this direction in the current pandemic period and quarantine regime.

Kristina Mammadova, Narmin Ganiyeva, Khayala Mammadova, Shams Bayramzade from the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ASK), Jamid Movsumov from ABAD, Jala Amirbayova from the Azerbaijan Fruit and Vegetable Producers and Exporters Association, Fidan Tofidi from PASHA Bank and Irada Mammadova from Azercell were invited to the online meetings. AMFA was closely involved in engaging experts as a project partner.

The first meeting was held with Jala Amirbayova, one of the most successful women entrepreneurs in Azerbaijan. During the meeting, Ms. Jala, who works in ecological agriculture as an entrepreneur, told the teachers about the ways to succeed in business, the points to pay attention to, based on her business experience.

In the next meetings with the ASK experts, entrepreneurship as a tool for sustainable employment, identification of needs and problems to generate business ideas, business plan, and its components, free speech, and presentation skills in business were discussed, and each expert shared his/her experience with teachers.

Jamid Movsumov, Deputy Head of Project Management in ABAD, made an interesting presentation on customer importance in business and developing related products and services for the current market.

At the last meeting with Fidan Tofidi and Irada Mammadova, specialists of PASHA Bank and Azercell’s corporate communications department, the teachers learned interesting information about the general concept of the startup and its difference from traditional business.

It should be noted that about 100 teachers were engaged as a trainer in the “Entrepreneurship for Youth” project. To date, the project has provided TOT on financial literacy and entrepreneurial education for teachers.
