Innovation Camp for Secondary school students

On June 12, JA Azerbaijan held the first Innovation Camp for the secondary school students. The event was organized as a part of JAA’s “Entrepreneurship for Youth” project funded by the European Union and co-funded by PASHA Bank.

The Innovation Camp brought together over 80 participants with the aim to share entrepreneurial experiences, discuss and find the solution ways based on problems and needs.

The intensive workshop engaged 72 students and 15 teachers from 10 secondary schools. The students were exposed to entrepreneurship, innovations, and got the chance to apply their creativity and develop a business project.  The innovation camp was filled with exciting lectures, eye opening workshops and dynamic mentoring. The event was divided into three parts: the creative part – where new ideas are generated and developed; the innovative part – where new ideas are developed into concepts can be turned into a business; and pitch competition.

Innovation Camp was finalized by Pitch Competition, where 14 teams were pitching their business projects to the members of the jury. The jury nominated a project called “SERU WHY” as the best project and the project “Ekologiya Budur” won the second best prize. The project called “Su həyatdır” was nominated as the most innovative project and the project “Lisuar” was nominated as the profitable business idea. The best presenters of the pitch competitions were the project “Ecomeat” and “GreenCo”. All 6 teams were awarded prizes by PASHA Bank and Bank Respublika.

By the end of the innovation camp JA Azerbaijan presented all participants certificates and presents.
