Secondary school students participated in Green Innovation Challenge

On May 30, Junior Achievement Azerbaijan held Green Innovation Challenge for secondary school students. The bootcamp was implemented in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, with the financial support of Mol Azerbaijan and PASHA Bank.

Thje innovation challenge brought together 85 students from 37 secondary schools with the aim to gain entrepreneurial experiences, discuss and develop solutions for the better green future. During the challenge students got a chance to apply their creativity and developed innovative business solutions within the teams.

The special guests of the event were Mrs Vafa Yagublu, Head of the General and Preschool Department of the Ministry of Education, Attila Somfai, the Managing Director of MOL Azerbaijan, Bakhtiyar Akhundov, the Deputy Managing Director of MOL Azerbaijan, Vusal Azimov, Head of  Digital and  Creative Design Department of PASHA Bank.

In her speech, Mrs. Vafa Yagublu emphasized the importance of learning and encouraged participants to brainstorming and be creative.

Mr. Bakhtiyar Akhundov said: “MOL Azerbaijan is proud to support the project that introduces financial literacy and entrepreneur education at schools to support young people in Azerbaijan in developing entrepreneurial skills and attitude”.

Then, Vusal Azizov made a presentation on design thinking.

The innovation challenge was divided into three parts: the creative part – where new ideas are generated; the innovative part – where new ideas are developed into concepts can be turned into a business; and pitch competition. At the end, the winner were awarded in the nominations “The most innovative business idea”, “The best teamwork”, “The most eco-friendly business idea”, “The best presenter”.

Another bootcamp for students from regions will be held on June 10 in Gakh.
