Transforming Youth towards Entrepreneurship and Innovation

January 14-15, 2020–Junior Achievement Azerbaijan has organized Entrepreneurship Seminar under the initiative of the UNICEF. The seminar was held within the framework of the program “Youth Leadership and Professional Development” financed by the European Union, by the cooperation of Ministry of Youth and Sport of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Youth Foundation. The main objective of the seminar was to stimulate the creative and innovative thinking of our youth without boundaries and improve their knowledge and skills in entrepreneurship.

The seminar was conducted by Tal Catran, Advisory Board Member of JA Azerbaijan, Accelerator Guru, Builder, TEDx Speaker. The employees of Binagadi District Youth House, Khazar District Youth House, Mingachevir City Youth House, Shamkir, Bilasuvar and Kazakh Youth Development and Career Centers participated actively in two days’ seminar.

On the first day of the seminar, our youth discussed questions like “What is innovation? How to be innovative? How to brainstorm for a startup idea based on daily life experience and needs?” related to modern entrepreneurship with Tal Catran. Tal Catran also shared his experiences with young people about the creation of startup projects and their need-based investments. On the last day of the seminar, our young participants presented interesting and innovative startup projects in groups based on the knowledge and skills they learned.

At the end of the day, the employees of Youth Houses, Development and Career Centers were awarded certificates.

We believe that entrepreneurship is a building block for future leaders, decision makers and innovators. As a result, we should start educate youth and students of all ages, for creative thinking, risk taking, handling failures as well as achieving higher tech education and harnessing professional tool kit of skills and talents, that would enable their success and accomplishment.
