JAA Initiatives and projects
Youth Entrepreneurship Program focuses on developing entrepreneurial skills, knowledge and attitude of young people at age 15-29 through various learning activities and practical workshops. The program aims to support youth-led enterprise development in Azerbaijan.
Within this program, JAA implements these projects:
Entrepreneurship for Youth
Currently, JA Azerbaijan has launched “Entrepreneurship for Youth” project with the support of the EU and Pasha Bank. The major objective of the project is to strengthen the entrepreneurial capacity and financial literacy of youth through the application of Estonian experiences. This will ensure their participation in the development of an entrepreneurial ecosystem. The project has been implemented in Baku, Ganja, Khachmaz, Gakh, Gabala, Masally, Mingachevir and Zagatala regions. 150 teachers and 3000 students from pilot vocational and secondary schools participated in this action. This project includes these components: entrepreneurship training, business competition, trade fair and innovation camps.
Entrepreneurship Training for Youth
These training sessions are based on JA programs and implemented in partnership with American Corners and US embassy in Azerbaijan. During sessions, students will be able to recognize the characteristics and practices of successful entrepreneurs. Students evaluate actual companies that have excelled in selecting and applying successful competitive advantages. This will increase an enterprising spirit among young people. After the theoretical part, they supposed to demonstrate business-planning skills for venture start-up, marketing, financing, management, and ethical decision-making.
